Halina Woroncow, M.D. |
Halina is a first generation American of Russian descent and the mother of two wonderful daughters. She was born in New Jersey and raised in a Slavic parish. She has fluency in four languages. Halina received a Bachelor's Degree in Music and Russian from Oberlin College and is a graduate of Harvard Medical School. After completing her residency at the Mayo Clinic, she stayed on as a physician in the Department of Family Medicine. Halina is an Assistant Professor on the staff of a rural clinic which trains Mayo residents, and she enjoys caring for families from birth to old age. On Sunday, Halina wears several hats including Church reader, choir member, Sunday School teacher, and youth group advisor, in addition to serving on the Parish Council and Outreach Committee. Outside of Holy Anargyroi, she is a member of the Executive Committee of OCAMPR (Orthodox Christian Association of Medicine, Psychology, and Religion). She's been involved in the spiritual education of our young people since 1996 and we are blessed to have her many talents in our Church! |
Loredana Jerghuita |
Loredana Jerghuita is of Romanian descent and is fluent in both Romanian and English. She and her husband Dan moved from Romania to work at the Rochester Mayo Clinic in computer technology. Her current position is as a senior analyst/programmer in the Department of Laboratory, Pathology and Extramural Applications. On Sunday, Loredana is a Choir Member and Youth Director. Besides being deeply involved in the spiritual education of our Youth and Children, she also runs the silent auction for our annual Greek Festival. We are very blessed to to have her many talents in our Church as well! |
Mike Brekke |
Mike Brekke was born in Minnesota and lives on a family farm outside of Byron. He is married and has three boys who like to keep him busy. Growing up, he worked in different restaurants around the area and is now the Food & Beverage Director at the Rochester Athletic Club. Mike had a Lutheran upbringing and was introduced to the Orthodox Church when he was married. He has spent time on the Parish Council and is now a Sunday School teacher and a Youth Group leader. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, working around the farm, and playing video games. |
